Paniolo Greens in Waikoloa Village on the big island of Hawaii

Trip to Waikoloa Village on the Kona side of the Big Island of Hawaii -- November 2005.

We stayed at the Paniolo Greens condos. We were in the South Kohala district and close to the best public beach on the island, Hapuna Beach.
The condos were half way between the coast highway and Waimea, where the Parker Ranch is located. While we were there, they celebrated the Kona coffee festival, an annual local event. In the evening after the parade in Kailua, we went to a civic auditorium and enjoyed local talent, including taiko drums.

We stopped at the NOAA office in Hilo and learned about the geography of the Hawaiin islands. 0511waikoloa020.jpg	We saw these birds from the balcony of our condo. Pat ran out to take closeups of them, but they ran away.
