April Meeting:

President Nancy V. called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m. Secretary Judy E. called the roll. There were 25 members present as well as three guests, Robin Baker and Bob and Nancy Zelenack. Minutes were approved as submitted.

Committee Reports:

State Ways and Means: Nancy V. is driving to the state show. She will take the button case
covers that Marion and Carla have made and can also take other things as requested.
Sandy G. showed a draft of the background for our card of bridge buttons that will be raffled
at the breakfast during the state show.  Nancy G. has painted two large buttons: one of the
Coronado Bay Bridge and one of the Laurel Street Bridge--gorgeous.  Other members have
donated buttons for the tray including 1939 New York World*s Fair button from the Heltons;
a Christina pewter from Nancy V.; and a footbridge, a tower bridge, and a small Oriental
bridge from Sandy G.  We still need more buttons for the card please contact Sandy G. so
she can have the card ready to take to state.  Renee will take the tray to the state show.
The group agreed by consensus that a black frame would go best with the black and white card background.
State Show:
Nancy G. stated that she had sent buttons she had received at Frederick Manor to the state to use on the sample cards. Susan announced that those persons not attending the state show should bring their ballots for state officers to the May club meeting, so they can be turned in at the state show.
Renee reminded those attending the state show that volunteer help is needed for the ways and means table, the registration table, and to help during the judging of trays. She also stated that the $20/day parking fee has been waived for show attendees.
State Awards:  Marion has prepared our state awards for the next two years in memory of Jane Ford Adams:
2013 - Division II Class 1-10 Transportation Uniform Buttons, 20 medium,  specialized to 10 land and 10 water.
2014-- Division I - Class 4-0 Enamels assorted, 25 any size. The cash awards are $25, $15, $10.
Library.  Several club members would like to have copies of the list of books in the library. Renee will send Susan the 2006 list of library books, and Nancy V. will contact Heather to see if there is a more up-to-date list. Look for an updated list from Susan in the fall.
Publicity:  Pat reported that there are no special events locally. The airport display is good publicity for us. Bookmarks need to be distributed to club members to take to appropriate places to increase publicity. Renee has the supply of bookmarks and will bring some in May.
President's Messages: Nancy V. presented Renee a bouquet of flowers in recognition of her retirement. The frame order has been placed. The revised bylaws, approved in November, have been sent out.
